Information for Authors

Submitting a paper

Send your paper by e-mail to the Managing Editor, André Kündgen (akundgen AT csusm DOT edu), in either Postscript or PDF format. (Do not send zip, tar, Word or TeX files.) Please include the names of all authors as well as the title of the paper in the body of the e-mail.

Your paper should include an abstract.

A paper submitted to E-JC must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere; nor should it be later submitted for publication elsewhere while E-JC is still considering it.

If receipt of your paper is not acknowledged within two weeks, please write to the Managing Editor again.

If your paper is accepted for publication you will be required to format it as explained below.

Our editorial process

  1. The Managing Editor assigns your paper to one of the Editors-in-Chief.
  2. If your paper appears potentially acceptable, the Editor-in-Chief will send it to one or more referees. In some cases, several rounds of refereeing may be required and you may be asked to make changes. This step can take from days to months, depending on the referees.
  3. If your paper still appears potentially acceptable when the refereeing process is complete, the Editor-in-Chief will ask you to provide a new edition on the basis of the reports, in the format of the journal. At this stage, source files in TeX or LaTeX will be required and you should also send the publication release form to avoid delays later. Note that we do not require you to assign copyright to the journal.
  4. The committee of all Editors-in-Chief will then consider your paper and make a final decision on whether to accept it or not. This step usually takes about two weeks.
  5. If your paper is accepted and we have received a publication release form it will be published. You will not be specifically notified when it is published, though you can choose to be notified of all papers that we publish.
