6.12 The AUTHORS File

There is no parallel node in GNU Standards.

The AUTHORS file should collect a fairly exact copy of the trace, normally kept in file /gd/gnuorg/assignments on the FSF machines, for all legal paper exchanges between contributors and the GNU project for your particular package. The file might have an introductory blurb similar to this one:

Authors of GNU package.

The following contributions warranted legal paper exchanges with the Free Software Foundation. Also see files ChangeLog and THANKS.
