Avoid using <TAB>s in a Texinfo manual, as they later cause various problems on the output disposition. Is alignment of comments in menu guaranteed using spaces only by now? If not, it should be considered a bug: not everybody is using `(setq-default tab-width 8)' in Emacs.

About node names, we need precise rules about which characters are allowed, and exactly why characters were forbidden. Special characters, like `.' or `+', have been reported to create various problems to Info readers, rendering nodes inaccessible. The macro package texinfo.tex also has its limitations, which we should inventory.
