Makepp - Reimplementation of 'make'

'makepp' is a syntax-compatible reimplementation of make. Features include automatic scanning for include files, simpler and more reliable builds involving multiple directories, transparent variant build/repository support, ability to use cryptographic checksum excluding whitespace and comments instead of date, and will rebuild if the build commands change.

'makepp' also logs build decisions for debugging, and can have wildcards match files which don't exist yet but can be built. Perl code can be embedded in the makefile.
