Apache::Session was designed for use with Apache and mod_perl, but works just as well under CGI and any other web server. Apache::Session is Copyright(c) 1998, 1999 Jeffrey William Baker . Distribute under the Artistic License. PREREQUISITES ------------- Build and install Perl (pref. 5.005_02), Apache (pref. 1.3.4) and mod_perl (pref. 1.18). To use Apache::Session at all, you must have the MD5 module, available on CPAN (http://www.perl.com/CPAN). Apache::Session::FileStore requires the Storable module and a writeable file- system. Apache::Session::DBI requires Storable, DBI, a working DBD, and a writable filesystem (for lock files). INSTALLATION ------------ tar -xvzf Apache-Session-0.99.5.tar.gz cd Apache-Session-0.99.5 perl Makefile.PL make make test make install Substitute "nmake" for "make" above if you are using Windows. EXAMPLE ------- Install eg/example.perl under your document root and run it. AUTHORS ------- Jeffrey Baker is the author of Apache::Session. Gerald Richter had the idea for a tied hash interface and provded the initial code for it. He also uses Apache::Session in his Embperl module. Jochen Wiedeman contributed patches for bugs and improved performance. Steve Shreeve squashed a bug in 0.99.0 whereby a cleared hash or deleted key failed to set the modified bit.
