The Week In Linux ================= Josh Templin jtemplin@ub.d.umn.edu The Week in Linux is an audio 'newscast' of current events in the Linux community. It is usually several minutes long and touches lightly on some of the more prominent topics concerning Linux. It is designed to be a quick, concise, and entertaining source of information. The Week in Linux is currently EXPERIMENTAL, and it's growth is dependent on listener response. Once you finish listening to The Week in Linux, please drop an e-mail note to the above address and tell us what you think. We are very interested to know if a project like this should continue. ***************************************************************************** NEW - IMPORTANT INFORMATION! The Week in Linux is now compressed with GSM. This format makes the file smaller and easier to 'handle'. To listen to The Week in Linux on a Linux machine, use the included 'tcat' binary. linux% tcat twil.003.gsm > /dev/audio For other platforms, see the gsm directory. Also, please read GSM's documentation. ***************************************************************************** So far sources for The Week in Linux are limited. We have access to all the newsgroups, but none of us really has the time to read beyond cola. What we ask is for YOU to send us newsworthy information. If you learn something interesting about Linux we ask you mail us the information for inclusion in the next The Week in Linux. You will receive full credit for your submissions. Thanks for listening to The Week in Linux, and please send comments, questions, or criticisms to jtemplin@ub.d.umn.edu. THANKS!
