    Abstract:

In this paper, we use the terminating case of the $ q$-binomial formula, the $ q$-Chu-Vandermonde formula and the Grüss inequality to drive an inequality about $ _{3}phi_2$. As applications of the inequality, we discuss the convergence of some $ q$-series involving $ _{3}phi_2$.
