This directory contains all the files you need for Infortrend 
stand-alone RAID controllers.

In this directory:

	\1.31	- Release 1.31 of firmware and utilities
		  (FW Upgradibility: Rev. A)
	
	\2.12	- Release 2.12 of firmware and utilities
		  (FW Upgradibility: Rev. B)

 ! Read This First !
---------------------

	Only download and upgrade the controller firmware and software
    utilities with your RAID system supplier's recommandation. You
    should always get the firmware/software upgrade and support from 
    your RAID system supplier, or the warranty of your RAID system may 
    void if you failed to do so. (Please refer to the warranty 
    information of your RAID system)

	When you are having question or problem you are not sure of, 
    contact your RAID system dealer first. Your RAID system supplier
    will provide the latest information and sincere support for you.

 	All Infortrend firmware and software utilities have been tested 
    and verified carefully before they have been released. However, 
    there are occasional cases with some certain circumstances or 
    configurations that are not common and have not been tested, and
    that is the main reason we have the firmware update.

	If the firmware in your controller is working perfectly fine,
    then THERE IS NO NEED TO UPGRADE anything. We highly recommend
    NOT to perform firmware or software upgrade	in this case.

 Questions and Answers

Q1. What is "FW Upgradibility"? 
    What is the difference between "Release 1.31" and "Release 2.12"?
    How do I know which release of the firmware and utilities should
    be applied to my controller?

A1: 	The "FW Upgradibility: Rev A" or "Rev B" are two different
    hardware version, there is no way to change the hardware revision
    of the controller.

	For controllers with "FW Upgradibility: Rev. A", the latest 
    update is Release 1.31. For controllers with "FW Upgradibility: 
    Rev. B", the latest update is the Release 2.12.

	The "FW Upgradibility" information only appears in firmware 
    1.31 family, and 2.11/2.12/newer firmware family.

    	To check the "FW Upgradibility" information of your 
    controller, please check the terminal emulation or LCD front 
    panel menu. In "View System Information", there is an item "FW 
    Upgradibility" which tells it. 

	If you cannot find that item in the "View System Information" 
    menu, and the current firmware version is 1.11_/1.12_/1.21_/1.22_ 
    family, the controller you have should be "FW Upgradibility: 
    Rev. A". The latest update for your controller is Release 1.31.
	
	If your current firmware is 2.11_/2.12_, the latest update for
    your controller is Release 2.12.


Q2. Is it possible to change my old controller to "FW Upgradibility: 
    Rev B"?

A2: There is no way to change or upgrade the hardware from "FW 
    Upgradibility: Rev.A" to "FW Upgradibility: Rev.B". They are two
    different hardware.
