Managing Configured Arrays

The Existing Logical Volumes window contains three sub-windows: Logical Volume Status, Members, and Logical Volume Parameters.

Related configuration options are: LV Assignment, Write Policy, Expansion, and Partitioning.

To Select a Configured Logical Volume
:

1. To access a logical volume, single click a listed volume in the Logical Volume Status window. A selected volume will be displayed in a reversed color (white print on a blue background).

2. When a configured volume is slected, the Members window automatically reflects the selection by displaying its member(s). Logical Drives belonging to the logical volume are listed. Note that members can not be configured in this window.

To Change Array-Related Configurations:

LV Assignment: You may reassign a logical volume to another RAID controller. Note that doing so requires mapping the volume or its partitions to the host channel ID/LUNs associated with that controller.

Write Policy: Write policy is configurable on a per volume basis. Note that all members of a logical volume adopts the same policy ever since.

Apply: After changing the above settings, click this button for the configuration to take effect.

Click to see how to Expand or Partition a logical volume.
