(Comments were formatted by Boris Semenov, NAIF/JPL, on September 3, 2001.) Orientations in This File -------------------------------------------------------- This PCK file contains orientation data for the asteroid Eros body-fixed frame. NAIF ID code for Eros is 2000433. Approximate Time Coverage -------------------------------------------------------- This file covers the following time interval: COVERAGE BEGIN TIME (ET) COVERAGE END TIME (ET) ------------------------ ------------------------ 1999 NOV 01 00:00:00.000 2001 JUN 01 00:00:00.000 Status -------------------------------------------------------- This PCK file contains the Eros body-fixed frame orientation solution provided by the NEAR NAV team at JPL to the NEAR project in May 2000 to be used to support Eros orbit phase operations and science data processing. This file was the latest PCK file generated for Eros operations and supersedes all other PCK files delivered by the NAV team to project. This file is accurate to about 0.05 degrees in pole and prime meridian angles. This file includes one Type 3 PCK segment containing Chebychev polynomial coefficients describing Eros attitude as a function of time. The records within the segments contain tenth degree Chebychev polynomials. When evaluated the resulting output is right ascension, declination, and prime meridian angle in the Earth mean equator of the epoch J2000 and the Eros body fixed spin vector.
