Welcome to the GNU Task List project. Our first job is to help volunteers help GNU. Our second job is to help you do all of your computer work using Free Software.
If you've got some free time and would like to help Free Software then we recommend that you take a look at our Volunteer HOWTO document. It should help you figure out how to contribute to GNU. If you've read the HOWTO and are still stuck, please feel free to send an email to the GNU Volunteer Coordinators and they'll help you get started.
An important way to help GNU is to become a card-carrying associate member of the Free Software Foundation.
We'd like for you to use Free Software for all of your computer tasks. If there's a task that you only know how to do using proprietary software, we'll try to help you find a Free program that can do the same job. If there is no such program we'll add the requirement to our "wish list" of programs that need to be written. Please send an email to the the GNU Volunteer Coordinators and be sure to indicate what you're trying to do, and any non-Free programs that you use.
