Sec. 5139. Appointment of chiropractors in the Medical Service 
        Corps
        
    Chiropractors who are qualified under regulations prescribed by the 
Secretary of the Navy may be appointed as commissioned officers in the 
Medical Service Corps of the Navy.

                            Prior Provisions

    A prior section 5139, acts Aug. 10, 1956, ch. 1041, 70A Stat. 287;

position of Chief of Medical Service Corps within Bureau of Medicine and 
Surgery, prior to repeal by Pub. L. 96-513, title III, Sec. 352(a), 
title VII, Sec. 701, Dec. 12, 1980, 94 Stat. 2902, 2955, eff. Sept. 15, 
1981.


                               Regulations

    Regulations required to be prescribed by amendment made by section 
505 of Pub. L. 102-484 to be prescribed not later than 180 days after 
Oct. 23, 1992, see section 505(d) of Pub. L. 102-484, set out as a note 
under section 3070 of this title.
