      SUBCHAPTER XII--SCHOOL FACILITIES INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT
 
Sec. 8507. Authorized activities


(a) In general

    Each eligible local educational agency receiving a grant under this 
subchapter shall use the grant funds only to ensure the health and 
safety of students through the repair, renovation, alteration, and 
construction of a public elementary or secondary school library, media 
center, or facility, used for academic or vocational instruction.

(b) Particular activities

    Subject to subsection (a) of this section, each eligible local 
educational agency receiving a grant under this subchapter may use the 
grant funds to meet the requirements of section 794 of title 29 and the 
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 [42 U.S.C. 12101 et seq.].
