             CHAPTER 2--OFFICE AND COMPENSATION OF PRESIDENT
 
Sec. 103. Traveling expenses

    There may be expended for or on account of the traveling expenses of 
the President of the United States such sum as Congress may from time to 
time appropriate, not exceeding $100,000 per annum, such sum when 
appropriated to be expended in the discretion of the President and 
accounted for on his certificate solely.

                               Amendments

    1978--Pub. L. 95-570 substituted ``$100,000'' for ``$40,000''.


                    Effective Date of 1978 Amendment

    Amendment by Pub. L. 95-570 applicable to any fiscal year beginning 
on or after Oct. 1, 1978, see section 6(a) of Pub. L. 95-570, set out as 
a note under section 102 of this title.
