                 CHAPTER 2--CAPITOL BUILDING AND GROUNDS
 
Sec. 193u. Suspension of regulations; Smithsonian grounds

    In order to permit authorized services, training programs, and 
ceremonies within the specified buildings and grounds, the Secretary of 
the Smithsonian Institution, the Trustees of the National Gallery of 
Art, the Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, 
or their designated representatives may suspend for their respective 
agencies so much of the prohibitions contained in sections 193o to 193q 
of this title as may be necessary for the occasion or circumstance, but 
only if responsible officers shall have been appointed, and arrangements 
determined which are adequate, in the judgment of the Secretary of the 
Smithsonian Institution, the Trustees of the National Gallery of Art, 
the Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, or 
their designees, for the maintenance of suitable order and decorum in 
the proceedings, and for the protection of the specified buildings and 
grounds and of persons and property therein.

                               Amendments

    1994--Pub. L. 103-279 substituted ``the Secretary of the Smithsonian 
Institution, the Trustees of the National Gallery of Art, the Trustees 
of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, or'' for ``the 
Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution or the Trustees of the National 
Gallery of Art or'' in two places.
