Sec. 817. Union Station Fund; establishment; administration; 
        authority of the Secretary to use income received toward 
        expenses
        
    (a) The Secretary of Transportation is authorized to use income and 
proceeds received from activities authorized by this part, including, 
without limitation, operating and leasing income and payments made to 
the Federal Government under development agreements, to pay expenses 
incurred by the Secretary of Transportation in carrying out the purposes 
of this part, including, without limitation, construction, acquisition, 
leasing, operation, and maintenance expenses, and payments made to 
developers under development agreements.
    (b) A special deposit account is hereby established in the Treasury 
of the United States, to be known as the Union Station Fund, which shall 
be administered as a revolving fund. Such special deposit account shall 
be credited with receipts of the Secretary of Transportation from 
activities authorized by this part and the balance in such special 
deposit account shall be available in such amounts as are specified in 
annual appropriation Acts for making expenditures authorized by this 
part.

  Payments by Union Station Redevelopment Corporation or Successor on 
                           First Deed of Trust

    Pub. L. 106-69, title I, Oct. 9, 1999, 113 Stat. 998, provided in 
part: ``That, as part of the Washington Union Station transaction in 
which the Secretary assumed the first deed of trust on the property and, 
where the Union Station Redevelopment Corporation or any successor is 
obligated to make payments on such deed of trust on the Secretary's 
behalf, including payments on and after September 30, 1988, the 
Secretary is authorized to receive such payments directly from the Union 
Station Redevelopment Corporation, credit them to the appropriation 
charged for the first deed of trust, and make payments on the first deed 
of trust with those funds''.
