Sec. 1320b-18. Recovery of social security benefit overpayments 
        from subchapter VIII benefits
        
    Whenever the Commissioner of Social Security determines that more 
than the correct amount of any payment has been made under subchapter II 
of this chapter to an individual who is not currently receiving benefits 
under that subchapter but who is receiving benefits under subchapter 
VIII of this chapter, the Commissioner may recover the amount 
incorrectly paid under subchapter II of this chapter by decreasing any 
amount which is payable to the individual under subchapter VIII of this 
chapter.
