Sec. 14073. Immunity for good faith conduct

    State and Federal law enforcement agencies, employees of State and 
Federal law enforcement agencies, and State and Federal officials shall 
be immune from liability for good faith conduct under section 14072 \1\ 
of this title.

    Section 14072 of this title, referred to in text, was in the 
original ``section 170102'', which was translated as meaning section 
170102 of Pub. L. 103-322, as added by Pub. L. 104-236, to reflect the 
probable intent of Congress. Pub. L. 104-236, which enacted this 
section, contains no section 170102.

                          Codification

    Section was enacted as part of the Pam Lychner Sexual Offender 
Tracking and Identification Act of 1996, and not as part of the Violent 
Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 which enacted this 
chapter.


                             Effective Date

    Section effective one year after Oct. 3, 1996, see section 10(a) of 
Pub. L. 104-236, set out as an Effective Date of 1996 Amendment note 
under section 14071 of this title.
