Sec. 300gg-43. Certification of coverage

    The provisions of section 300gg(e) of this title shall apply to 
health insurance coverage offered by a health insurance issuer in the 
individual market in the same manner as it applies to health insurance 
coverage offered by a health insurance issuer in connection with a group 
health plan in the small or large group market.

                             Effective Date

    Section applicable with respect to health insurance coverage 
offered, sold, issued, renewed, in effect, or operated in the individual 
market after June 30, 1997, regardless of when a period of creditable 
coverage occurs, and provisions of section 102(c)(2) of Pub. L. 104-191, 
set out as a note under section 300gg of this title, applicable to this 
section in the same manner as it applies to section 300gg(e) of this 
title, see section 111(b) of Pub. L. 104-191, set out as a note under 
section 300gg-41 of this title.
