Sec. 3501a. Additional Assistant Secretaries

    There shall be in the Department of Health and Human Services, in 
addition to the Assistant Secretaries now provided for by law, three 
additional Assistant Secretaries of Health and Human Services, who shall 
be appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the 
Senate. The provisions of section 2 of the Reorganization Plan Numbered 
1 of 1953 (67 Stat. 631) shall be applicable to such additional 
Assistant Secretaries to the same extent as they are applicable to the 
Assistant Secretaries authorized by that section.

Secretaries of Health, Education, and Welfare'', respectively, pursuant 
to section 509(b) of Pub. L. 96-88, which is classified to section 
3508(b) of Title 20, Education.
