Sec. 6026. Payments to States for planning, administration, and 
        services
        

(a) State plan expenditures

    From each State's allotments for a fiscal year under section 6025 of 
this title, the State shall be paid the Federal share of the 
expenditures, other than expenditures for construction, incurred during 
such year under its State plan approved under this subchapter. Such 
payments shall be made from time to time in advance on the basis of 
estimates by the Secretary of the sums the State will expend under the 
State plan, except that such adjustments as may be necessary shall be 
made on account of previously made underpayments or overpayments under 
this section.

(b) Support services

    Payments to States for support services provided by the designated 
State agency pursuant to section 6024(d)(4) of this title may be made in 
advance or by way of reimbursement, and in such installments as the 
Secretary may determine.

    A prior section 126 of Pub. L. 88-164, title I, as added Pub. L. 94-
103, title I, Sec. 105, Oct. 4, 1975, 89 Stat. 488, related to grants 
for projects and to application requirements and was classified to 
section 6042 of this title, prior to general amendment of a prior 
subchapter II by Pub. L. 95-602, title V, Sec. 509, Nov. 6, 1978, 92 
Stat. 3008.


                               Amendments

    1994--Pub. L. 103-230 inserted comma after ``administration'' in 
section catchline, designated existing provisions as subsec. (a) and 
inserted heading, and added subsec. (b).
