                      SUBCHAPTER II--CARBON DIOXIDE
 
Sec. 8912. Authorization of appropriations

    For the expenses of carrying out the carbon dioxide study authorized 
by section 8911 of this title (as determined by the Office of Science 
and Technology Policy) there are authorized to be appropriated such 
sums, not exceeding $3,000,000 in the aggregate, as may be necessary. At 
least 80 percent of any amounts appropriated pursuant to the preceding 
sentence shall be provided to the National Academy of Sciences.
