Sec. 5734. Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses of 
        employees transferred from the Postal Service
        
    Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law, officers and 
employees of the United States Postal Service promoted or transferred 
under section 1006 of title 39, United States Code, from the Postal 
Service to an agency (as defined in section 5721 of this title), for 
permanent duty may be authorized travel, transportation, and relocation 
expenses and allowances under the same conditions and to the same extent 
authorized by this subchapter for other transferred employees within the 
meaning of this chapter.

                             Effective Date

    Section effective (1) on effective date of regulations to be 
promulgated not later than 150 days after Jan. 2, 1986, or (2) 180 days 
after Jan. 2, 1986, whichever occurs first, see section 301(a) of Pub. 
L. 99-234, set out as an Effective Date of 1986 Amendment note under 
section 5701 of this title.
