                  CHAPTER 55--DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
 
Sec. 2250. Construction and repair of buildings and public 
        improvements
        
    The Department of Agriculture is authorized to erect, alter, and 
repair such buildings and other public improvements as may be necessary 
to carry out its authorized work: Provided, That no building or 
improvement shall be erected or altered under this authority unless 
provision is made therefor in the applicable appropriation and the cost 
thereof is not in excess of limitations prescribed therein.

    This section was enacted as part of the Department of Agriculture 
Organic Act of 1944.
    Section was formerly classified to section 565a of Title 5 prior to 
the general revision and enactment of Title 5, Government Organization 
and Employees, by Pub. L. 89-554, Sec. 1, Sept. 6, 1966, 80 Stat. 378.
