                    CHAPTER 17--MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS
 
Sec. 429. Improvement of poultry, poultry products, and 
        hatcheries
        
    The Secretary of Agriculture is authorized to cooperate with State 
authorities and with the authorities of the District of Columbia, 
Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico in the administration of regulations for 
the improvement of poultry, poultry products, and hatcheries.

                               Amendments

    1950--Act Aug. 4, 1950, included within its provisions the District 
of Columbia, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.


               Admission of Alaska and Hawaii to Statehood

    Alaska was admitted into the Union on Jan. 3, 1959, on issuance of 
Proc. No. 3269, Jan. 3, 1959, 24 F.R. 81, 73 Stat. c16, and Hawaii was 
admitted into the Union on Aug. 21, 1959, on issuance of Proc. No. 3309, 
Aug. 21, 1959, 24 F.R. 6868, 73 Stat. c74. For Alaska Statehood Law, see
