Hi,

Linux Kernel version 2.4.0-test3-pre7-rmk1 is now on the ARM Linux FTP site,
which can be found at:

	ftp://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/pub/armlinux/source/kernel-patches/v2.4/patch-2.4.0-test3-pre7-rmk1.gz

Pre-requsists:
--------------

	To use this patch, you will need to obtain the following:

	* Linus' 2.4.0-test2 kernel source
		ftp://ftp.xx.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.4/
	* Linus' 2.4.0-test3-pre7
		ftp://ftp.xx.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/testing/

	Replace 'xx' with your two-character country code.

Things to watch out for:
------------------------

*	As this is a "pre" patch, the kernel may be more unstable than
	its "non-pre" counterparts. Please use with care!
*	Please note that arch/arm/special will be killed shortly - please
	do not rely on it existing for very much longer.

When compiling for brutus I'm missing serial_sa1100.c:

Configuration:
  linux-2.4.0-test2.tar.gz +
  test3-pre7.gz +
  patch-2.4.0-test3-pre7-rmk1.gz

>make brutus_config
>make config

results in a linker error when trying to link char.o:

There is no file serial_sa1100.* anywhere in the source tree.

Anybody has this file for me ?

The complete SA1100 support, especially for Brutus, still requires my
patch over Russell's. Yet I have to produce a patch against
2.4.0-test3-pre7-rmk1 which should come out shortly.

In response to the growing number of requests for a Java JDK to run on the
NetWinder I asked Scott Hutinger of BlackDown to build and post a new version
based on the latest shipping NetWinder image (DM 3.1-15a). He has graciously
rebuilt JDK 1.1.8 and made it available from here:

ftp://ftp.tux.org/pub/java/JDK-1.1.8/arm/v2

It should eventually be mirrored and appear on the Blackdown mirrors.
