New libraries have been in the system longer than pico, because of
bash. and without the updated libraries bash won't run.

I'm just a unix newbie so could you explain this to me in more
detail (if you can)

As stated before I'm quite a complete Linux newvie, I konw quite
much about the basics but that is it.. so more details please.
