        Try (from your Mandrake thingy) to do a
smbclient -L <servername>

        For our Mulinux-based printer server, I get:
$ smbclient -L aslan
added interface ip=x.x.x.x bcast=x.x.x.x nmask=x.x.x.x
Got a positive name query response from x.x.x.x ( x.x.x.x )
Domain=[CR] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 1.9.18p8]

        LaserJet 4L Printer HP LaserJet 4L in C34
        floppy Disk Samba server's floppy
        docs Disk Documentation
        ring Disk Ring (preexec/postexec test)
        IPC$ IPC IPC Service (Aslan Kebab)

        You should get something similar.
