[Mu] ok.. I found a cheap way to solve the prob of having a shitty floppy and little ram

use your existing linux machine and uncompress root.gz and do a dd if=ROOT of=/dev/fd0u1722
and then pop old floppy into your old bastardized machine from hell and run lowmem.
boom muthafucka. it's all good :P
