Do you mean that if the autonegotiation complete bit is set to one,
the highest speed bit available in the status is current mode?
So, when I config the phy, firstly i read the phy
status, and I will get the available working mode and speed in the status
register. Sceondly, if I want to config phy
manually,I may write the available mode to control register, and by then
configuration is finished. What I have written to the control
register is the working mode. And if I want to let the phy autonegotiate ,I
only need to write autonegotiation command to phy control register. After the phy
status's autonegotiation complete bit is set to one, the configuration is
finished. The highest bit set in the status register indicating the working
mode.
Is it right?

panic
