If you just get:

[root@njord jtag]# ./jp1-xess 9999
Connected to parallel port at 378

then there is a probably problem with your jtag connection; sorry, this is not 
very informative, as it should be, but we didn't have enough time to improve 
it. Any candidates for this small job?
