MATH DECLARATION SET
10. INTRODUCTION
10.1 Scope. This appendix specifies the character set entity
declarations, data content notation declarations, replacement text
entity declarations, and declaration set for mathematical formulae
available for use with any document type declaration in this
specification or any document type declaration created in compliance
with this specification.
20. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
20.1 Applicable documents. This section is not applicable to this
appendix.
30. CHARACTER SET ENTITY DECLARATIONS
30.1 Character set entity declarations. The following lists the
PUBLIC identifiers and the group of character set entity declarations
associated with each PUBLIC identifier which are available for use in
DoD publications conforming to this specification. To make the entity
declarations within any set available within a document type
declaration, the document type declaration must contain the PUBLIC
entity declaration and the parameter entity reference to the
declaration, as shown in the "typical invocation."

40. DATA CONTENT NOTATION DECLARATIONS
40.1 Data content notation declarations. The following lists the
PUBLIC data content notation declarations available for use in DoD
publications conforming to this specification. Non-SGML entities used
within a document must cite a data content notation within the
document type declaration. To use any of these declarations, they must
be contained within the document type declaration to be used.

50. REPLACEMENT TEXT ENTITY DECLARATIONS
50.1 Replacement text entity declarations. The following lists the
PUBLIC replacement text entity declarations available for use in DoD
publications conforming to this specification. These entity
declarations are listed separately and, in some cases, grouped into
entity sets. Each separate declaration and each entity set have been
assigned public identifiers by which they may be referenced in a
declaration subset of a document type declaration.

APPENDIX C
The contractor/depot QA activity is responsible for preparing
the QA/QC plan covering the work required by the DMWR and
contract/work directive. Depots shall prepare the plan in accordance
with DESCOM-R 702-1. Contractors shall conform to either MIL-Q-9858
for MIL-I-45208 as specified by the PA/CM. In addition to meeting the
requirements of the foregoing references, the plan will provide that:
- the QA/QC plan shall be made available to the PA/CM for review
prior to the start of work and throught the life of the program. The
contractor shall notify the PA/CM in writing of any change. The basic
plan and changes thereto are subject to disapproval by the PA/CM.
- Comparison inspection standards are coordinated with the PA/CM
Quality Assurance element.
- Material or procedural departure from the DMWR or supporting
specifications will not be accepted without prior approval of the
PA/CM in accordance with MIL-STD-481.
- Rejected material is randomly inspected to verify classification
prior to reclamation or disposal.
- Maintenance and reclamation procedures are verified before and
periodically during operations.
- Inspection requirements in Section II below are accomplished."
-472-
MIL-M-28001A
APPENDIX C
Acceptance of all items processed in accordance with this DMWR
will be based on the following:
- Compliance with quality of material requirements.
- Compliance with in-process inspections.
- Compliance with the requirements of the final acceptance
inspection and for the final assembly inspections.
- Proper preparation for shipment/storage, if appropriate."
STORAGE INSPECTION.
Different degrees of inspection are required based upon the type
of storage:
Ready storage:
Equipment maintained in a completely ready status in
anticipation of a relatively near term use requirement. This
equipment may be positioned on the shelf, held in the shop, or may be
installed in the next higher assembly or installation. The item may
be pre-loaded with munitions and maintained in a munitions holding
area or munitions storage igloo in preparation for installation on the
aircraft. Equipment will be provided adequate protection from damage
and the elements. Examples of ready storage would be DD 780 equipment
receiving frequent use, and mobility contingency, or bare base assets
requiring a high degree of readiness for immediate employment.
Inspection criteria:
Inspection interval for items in this manual, placed in ready
storage will be that deemed necessary by the IM/SM to assure
serviceability in "ready-to-use" condition. For weapons release
equipment, the inspection frequency on items in ready storage will be
a minimum of every eighteen months.
-475-
MIL-M-28001A
APPENDIX C
Refer to Table X-X for ready storage inspection and maintenance
requirements.
Extended storage:
These items maintained in a a ready condition for which a far-
term-utilization requirement exists but for which no requirements
exists for frequent exercises or immediate short term employment.
Equipment placed in extended storage will be in a serviceable, ready
to use condition. This category includes WRM assets.
Inspection criteria:
An annual sampling inspection will be performed of 10 percent of
assets in extended storage. Items inspected will be identified;
marked to prevent redundant inspection of the same items during future
annual inspections. Subsequent annual inspections will be performed
on those items which have acquired the longest calendar year time
period since last inspections. In the event that deterioration of
equipment is detected during any annual inspection, a determination
will be made whether an inspection of all assets having corresponding
packaging dates must be performed. For field organizations, this
determination will be made either by the organizational commander or
maintenance supervisor. For AFLC depot organizations, this
determination will be made by the supply inspector.
Refer to Table X-X for extended storage inspection and
maintenance requirements.
Storage and packaging:
Equipment placed in extended storage will meet the following
criteria:
Equipment will be packaged in accordance with applicable
transportation packaging order.
-476-
MIL-M-28001A
APPENDIX C
Packaged equipment must be warehoused in a covered structure
which will provide protection from climatic elements.
Units which have been subjected to prior use must meet all
criteria outlined in Table X-X prior to being placed in extended
storage.
Items recieved from depot or in base supply assets, meeting the
packaging requirements specified in (a) above will be considered as
being in extended storage."

60. PUBLIC TABLE DEFINITIONS
60.1 Public table definitions. The following lists the declarations
defining tables to be used with the cited specifications (see 1.2).
Each has a public identifier that is declared in the appropriate
document type declaration. These may be modified, in which case the
public identifier is no longer used. The declarations that appear in
this section are changed as required and repeated as system entities
with the MIL-STD-1840A deliverable.
