This directory contains the current version of the DocBook DTD,
its documentation, an SGML declaration, and some sample files.  
As of 18 May 1993 the current version of this DTD is 1.2.2.

As of 18 May 1993 the documentation for the DTD version 1.2.2
consists of a "Guide" that includes an alphabetical list of 
elements, with definitions, in PostScript.

DocBook 1.2.2 is a slightly expanded and revised version of 1.2.1, 
in which new division elements have been added to Index, Glossary,
and Bibliography, and the RefClass element (part of RefEntry, for
man pages) has been reworked.  With these exceptions, instances
conforming to 1.2.1 should be valid under 1.2.2.

The DTD does not establish detailed rules for the usage of 
elements.  This is a matter for editors and writers to deal with.

Please note that the DTD has an associated SGML declaration,
also to be found in this directory.

To get all of the files relevant to version 1.2.2, obtain the files
named docbook.1.2.2.shar, docbook.1.2.2.doc1.ps.Z, and 
docbook.1.2.2.doc2.ps.Z.
