Presentation Document Production Instructions

Presentation Document Production Instructions affect the process of rendering the page images and their placement on the media. This includes the selection of the page images to be presented, the placement of individual page images on instances of the medium, the number of copies to be printed, and the delivery of the document to the user.

The presentation parameters which are affected by the Presentation Document Production Instructions are shown in . Copies Document Production Instruction

The Copies Document Production Instruction specifies the number of copies of the document to be printed.

COPIES DPI

The Copies Document Production Instruction shall be represented by a COPIES DPI structure element. A COPIES DPI structure element shall be a base structure element. The value of a COPIES DPI structure element shall be of type Cardinal.

Copies Document Production Instruction Processing

The effect of the Copies Document Production Instruction shall be to set the value of the number-of-copies presentation parameter to the value of the COPIES DPI structure element.

Copies of the document shall be presented to the user in a manner consistent with the values of the output-bin and output-specification presentation parameters. If the value of the number-of-copies presentation parameter is zero, the document shall be processed but no copies shall be printed. The default value of the number-of-copies presentation parameter shall be one.

Copies Document Production Instruction Reconciliation

The Copies Document Production Instruction is meaningful only in a DOCUMENT or in Supplementary DPI. Any Copies Document Production Instruction which occurs in a BLOCK which is not a DOCUMENT shall be ignored. If a Copies Document Production Instruction occurs in both Document DPI and Supplementary DPI, the Supplementary DPI shall take precedence.

A system which cannot present multiple copies of the document in collated form shall indicate failure to do so by generating a structure warning. If the value of the abort-policy presentation parameter allows for continued processing, the fallback behavior shall be to present the pages in either

If the processing of the PAGESET (including the processing of Page Select Document Production Instructions of any subordinate PAGESETs) generates n PAGEs, then for 1≤in the ith PAGE in the sequential order of the PAGESET

The sequence of PAGEs which are included (i.e. for which page-select(i)=true) shall constitute the sequence of PAGEs of the PAGESET. The default value of page-select for each PAGESET shall be page-select(i)= true for all values of i.

The Sides Document Production Instruction specifies whether page images are to be printed on one or two sides of a sheet medium (such as paper). It is meaningful only for the presentation of documents on such media.

The Sides Document Production Instruction is represented by a SIDES DPI structure element. A SIDES DPI structure element shall be a base structure element. The value of a SIDES DPI structure element shall be of type Cardinal, and shall be either 1 or 2.

Sides Document Production Instruction Processing

The effect of the Sides Document Production Instruction shall be to set the value of the sides presentation parameter to the value of the SIDES DPI. Plex Document Production Instruction

The Plex Document Production Instruction specifies the relationship between page images and instances of the media. It is intended for the presentation of documents on two sides of sheet media such as paper or for the placement of single page images on instances of the media so that they can be copied onto two sides of sheet media.

PLEX DPI

The Plex Document Production Instruction is represented by a PLEX DPI structure element. A PLEX DPI structure element shall be a base structure element. The value of a PLEX DPI structure element shall be of type Public Object Identifier. Public Object Identifier values for PLEX DPI are defined by ISO/IEC 10175 as standard values for the plex attribute.
