This is xmcd version 2.6, a package including xmcd, an X11/Motif-based
CD player utility and cda, a command-line driven, non-graphical CD
audio player.


Instructions to unpack xmcd v2.6 source code release
----------------------------------------------------

The "xmcd-2.6.tar.gz" file is a "gzip"-compressed file containing
a tar format archive containing the xmcd source code files.  On
OpenVMS, this file should be saved as "xmcd-25.tgz" because a
filename can have only one "dot" in it.


UNIX and compatible systems:

   To extract, make a suitable source code top level directory
   directory Then, change to the directory and do the following:

	gunzip < xmcd-2.6.tar.gz | tar xvf -

   Read the README and docs_d/INSTALL files for further instructions.


OpenVMS systems:

   To extract, you need the GUNZIP and VMSTAR utilities.  These
   can be found at various location on the Internet.  One such
   location is the Digital FTP site:

	ftp://ftp.digital.com/pub/VMS

   First unpack the xmcd GZIPed file, then use VMSTAR to
   restore the directory tree for xmcd.

   Read the README and INSTALL.VMS files in the docs_d directory
   for further instructions.
