Xsun.Mach64.README

This patch adds support for Sun's OEM ATI Mach64 (SUNWm64) graphics card
(frame buffer) to the X Consortium R6.3 and The Open Group X Project Team
R6.4 Xsun servers. This patch treats the Mach64 as a dumb (unaccelerated)
frame buffer.

The resulting Xsun binary is reputed to work on Sun Ultra-SPARC workstations 
(PCI Bus) with a Mach64 running Solaris 2.6.

To apply this patch:

   cd <top of X source, i.e. directory containing `xc' directory>
   patch -p0 < Xsun.Mach64.patch
   cd xc/programs/Xserver/hw/sun
   make Makefile
   make depend
   make
   cd ../..
   make LoadXsun


(Note: this patch is generated against R6.4pl3 sources. I haven't tried to 
apply it to R6.3 sources. I have no intention of making it apply to the
R6.3 sources. If it doesn't apply cleanly to R6.3 sources that is left as 
an exercise for those who want to use it with R6.3 sources.)

If this patch works for you, great. If it doesn't work, don't tell me
about it -- seriously! If it doesn't work for you, you've got the source, 
compile the server with debugging turned on and figure out why not, and 
then fix it.
