About Living Reviews in Relativity
Living Reviews in Relativity (LRR) is an online only, peer-reviewed journal, which belongs to the family of Living Reviews journals. LRR is part of the global Open Access movement for free, immediate, and permanent access to knowledge and research results.
Who can submit a review article
The board of editors decides on topics and invites leading authorities to write reviews of research in all areas of relativity.
Who the readership is
Your review should form an entry point for graduate students and others who want to get into a field. It should also give a comprehensive overview to the experienced researcher who wants to catch up with important recent progress.
How long and broad the review article should be
The reviews in LRR should have the depth and style of a plenary review talk at a major international conference. Your article should provide a lively picture of research in the field at the time of review. It is not meant to replace in-depth textbooks or encyclopaedic reviews of all the literature. Instead, it should focus on what you think are the most important results, giving readers a guide to the most relevant papers in the field.

What the word ‘living’ stands for
The review articles in Living Reviews are being kept up-to-date, so they can become the primary reference in the field. Crucial in this endeavour is that you commit yourself to keeping your article current when you accept the invitation to write for LRR. This is achieved by revising it every two to four years, depending on how rapidly the subject develops.
Competing interests
Living Reviews requires authors to declare any competing financial or other interest in relation to their work. All competing interests that are declared will be listed at the end of published articles. Where an author gives no competing interests, the listing will read 'The author(s) declare that they have no competing interests'.
Citation and download numbers
A current web traffic analysis shows that on average 2800 articles in PDF format are downloaded from the journal’s web site each month. In the last citation analysis we conducted the citation numbers were very good and comparable to those of similar articles in other review journals. In the latest Journal Citation Reports released by Thomson Reuters the current impact factor for Living Reviews in Relativity is 19.250.

A key part of Living Reviews is its searchable archive of bibliographic references, from where the users can start their literature searches. Search results and references of individual articles can be downloaded in various bibliographic formats. Therefore, we strive to ensure that the cited references are of high quality and we ask authors to provide links to onlineversions if possible.

The newsletter and RSS feed
Readers can subscribe to an E-mail list that will send a notification, including the abstract, when a new article has been published. This is a free service. They may also add our RSS feed to their news reader.
