[oc] Interesting Article

This may make interesting reading to some of you
(found it on slashdot):

http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~rnc1/descrack/

Basically, it's about a Cambridge University
group who have cracked DES (as used in banking)
with an off the shelf Altera board (Excalibur)
and two days processing time.

The article includes a good explanation of DES
technology. Source code is also included for
the curious. (May be of interest to those
handling the DES project?)

Best wishes
John
