[oc] EECK! Attachments? Twilight Zone?

Richard,

golden rule is with mailing groups "NEVER USE ATTACHMENTS". If you want
people to be able to
access a file then host the file on a webserver somewhere and put a link
into the email. I
know somebody who emailed an email 'accidently so he claimed' to a UK
mailing list with an
attachment of 10Mbytes. Times that by the 10,000+ people on that list and
you get 100Gigabytes
of email the poor little email server tried to send before they had to
reboot it thus losing
other pending emails and taking the list offline for 3 days.

If anybody here runs mailing lists for whatever reason please feel free to
learn from my
ex-friends mistake.

Hi Damjan,

Ok fine with me. I am positive now that the email never reached the group,
because I send it to the OpenCores mailing list again too. But it never got
there. Is there a limit on the size of the email you can send to the group,
or on the kind/size of attachment ??

Richard
